Title: Two Deer Dancers
Artist: Jerome L. Martinez
This most awesome painting was completed in 1983. This is the Deer Dance which is danced on January 23 on the Feast Day of San Ildefonso Pueblo. The artist has danced this particular dance a number of times. The two young dancers that follow are Antelope Dancers. I is a powerful painting adored with Eagle designs, a Sun Symbol and the Sacred Avanyu (Rain Serpent). The Black Mesa is in the background.
The Artist has been painting for over 40 years and is one of many talented Great Grandchildren of world famed potter Maria Martinez.
